Evergreen tree, easiest truffle to produce

Evergreen oak . Neat and compact growing habit and much smaller than the English oak. In Spain and France this is the favoured truffle host tree. The bianchetto white truffle is native of Italy and is often confused with famous Italian white truffle. It harvests from May to early September. When young it is whitish in colour and ages to a coffee colour on the outside and is pale internally. The aroma is slightly garlicy, earthy and mild. It is used in cooking similarly to the Italian white.
