The bianchetto white truffle is native of Italy and harvests from May to early September. When young it is whitish in colour and ages to a coffee colour on the outside and is pale internally. The aroma is slightly garlicy, earthy and mild. It is used in cooking similarly to the Italian white.

Please note: Being grown from seed hazelnut seedlings are not a true copy of the commercial parent variety (because of genetic variability). Hazelnuts require cross pollination from different and compatible varieties in order to produce nuts. Therefore in isolation they will not produce nuts, where a number of trees are planted nearby pollination and nut production is possible but not guaranteed.
